Grantmaking Schedule
WellMet Group members identify potential grantees throughout the year. In the fall we meet to welcome new members and review reports on previous grantees. In January we meet to discuss possible new grantees, and decide which will be asked to complete an application for funding. Groups have approximately one month to complete the applications, which all WellMet members receive and read. In March, we meet again to decide which non-profits we will visit, and which will be dropped from further consideration. Teams of two or three members visit the selected organizations and write recommendations. In early May the WellMet Group meets and votes on which organizations will be funded.
The New York Community Trust
The Trust administers WellMet funds, and must approve all recommendations. The selected non-profits must provide information to the Trust before final approval is granted and funds released.
